![]() Chilton - a kindly old woman who helped raise him after the loss of his parents - was actually the birth mother of Joe and his criminal brother Max. Batman arrives and defeats the crooks, and holds Chill in his arms as he dies - accepting in some way, even if he didn't pull the trigger, he had gotten his revenge for the loss of his parents. But the crooks, immediately furious their boss was responsible for making Batman be a constant thorn in their side, opened fire on him before he could reveal the truth about his identity. He warned them he knew who Batman was, and he'd accidentally caused the event that led to his creation. Chill was able to escape and find his henchmen. Investigating Chill's operation, Batman discovered it was the man who'd formerly killed his parents.īruce confronted Chill and even revealed his identity to the man in a rage.
